There’s something about Byron Bay that just slows everything down—in the best way possible. We recently escaped for a weekend with the family, and honestly, it felt like hitting reset.
We stayed at Bayshore Bungalows Byron Bay, tucked away near Belongil Beach. From the moment we arrived, it had that dreamy, coastal vibe—palm trees swaying, kids already eyeing off the pool, and that unmistakable salty air.
The bungalows are self-contained, which made family life so easy. Think open spaces, a proper kitchen, and indoor-outdoor dining areas perfect for slow mornings or relaxed dinners. It’s a great spot to vacation with an extended group.

We arrived just before sunset, dropped our bags, and went straight out for a bike ride. It was the perfect way to settle in—cruising around the quiet streets and soaking up that relaxed Byron energy.
Dinner was a treat at Azure Bar and Grill at Elements of Byron Bay. Great food, beautiful setting, and an easy family-friendly vibe—such a good way to kick off the weekend.
Mornings in Byron hit differently. We started with breakfast in the kitchen—simple, slow, and exactly what you want on holiday.
From there, we jumped on the iconic Byron Bay Solar Train. It’s such a fun experience, especially with kids—an old train powered by solar energy that runs between North Beach and town. Short, scenic, and something a bit different.
We headed into town and had lunch at Beach Hotel Byron Bay—classic pub vibes, good food, and right near the action.
After wandering through the shops and soaking up the buzz of town, we hopped back on the solar train and headed home.
Dinner that night was super easy—we went to North Byron Hotel, just across the road from our accommodation. Great atmosphere, live music, and perfect for a relaxed family dinner.
Sunday started with a proper Byron experience—a long walk around the Cape Byron Lighthouse circuit. The views were incredible, and it’s such a great way to start the day.
We grabbed a coffee after the walk, then headed back to pack up.
Before leaving, we squeezed in one last meal at Miss Margarita—a vibrant Mexican spot in town that was the perfect send-off.
If you’re looking for a weekend that balances relaxation with just enough adventure, Byron Bay delivers every time.
Staying at Bayshore Bungalows Byron Bay made it all so easy—space for the family, a great location, and that laid-back coastal feel.
